The Resurrection Is The Promise.

 Acts 13:26-35
"...And we declare to you  glad tidings - that promise which was made to the fathers. God has fulfilled this for us their children, IN THAT HE HAS RAISED UP JESUS. As it is also written in the second Psalm:

 You are My Son
 Today I have begotten You.

(Verse 32-33 of our text)

It is intriguing to discover what the real promise is. What God promised to the Patriarchs, the Fathers, the Predecessors of our Faith. It was not It was not generational wealth. It was not political power. It was not social affluence. It was the Resurrection. The Resurrection is the promise; the mother of promises if we understand it

The things that turned dead through Adam, God promised to bring back to life. The Resurrection would be the platform. When he time was ripe, the sign would be this - God would raise His first son from death so that He would be the FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD. And lead other things to follow suit shortly after.

The Fathers must have been ecstatic in paradise, more excited than everyone on this side of eternity. For they understood what was happening on the day Jesus was raised. God was fulfilling a promise. God was fulfilling the promise He made to them much earlier.

The Resurrection is God's biggest investment till date. It is God's greatest expenditure. So immersed in it, He acquired a name in the process - HE WHO RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD (Rom. 8:11). And just if you care, that is his perfect nickname. The Resurrection is God's fascination and pre-occupation to date. He is "...God who gives life to the dead..." Romans 4:17. Present continuous tense!

God knows that by everything possible, He is able to redeem their purposes, and to restore His plan.It is clear in His mind - _The Resurrected version of a thing is superior to it's natural version. It is the restored version; the true version.

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Romans 6:10

The Resurrection is far-reaching. It applies to every department of life. God's goal is to bring every department of Human Life into the Resurrection. Anything that arrives there immediately begins to live toward Him. Functioning towards God. Prior to that, it is dead to Him.

To have the resurrection touch upon my finances, for instance, is to have my money beginning to live unto God. To begin to serve His purposes, and to become His channel.

I become God-conscious and God-aware in that area.

And the Resurrection means that the Cross has first done its work upon a thing. Bringing its crucifying power by the working of the Holy Spirit. It chokes to death all that is of Adam and the Old creation in that thing. It then paves a leeway for that which is of Christ and the New Creation to find passage.

In the process, the fabric of that thing changes. Not only does it change from a Natural thing to a Resurrected thing, It indeed changes from Flesh to Spirit. It becomes a partaker of the Divine nature. The Divine nature is SPIRIT. "God is Spirit..." John 4:24.
