We are not fighting for Victory, We are fighting from Victory.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood.....but against....SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES." Eph.6:11

We wrestle against Spiritual Wickedness in High places. Or let me paraphrase it - We wrestle against highly-placed spiritual forces. And "Heavenly-placed" as some versions have it. I am not exalting them, I am only describing them, that I might validate Paul's charge in the preceding verse:

BE STRONG IN THE LORD, AND IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT....

Christ is seated above them. This is important for me to state. In measuring the distance, no measuring device was helpful and no human quantity applied. Therefore "Researchers" arrived at this inference - FAR ABOVE!

"...Far, Far above principalities and powers and any name that is named..." Eph. 1:21

How far is Christ's seat from the topmost official of the Kingdom of hell? Very far!!! Very very far!!! Very very very far!!! It can only be qualified, never can it be quanitified. And His exaltation must be clear to us in revelation or we are wrongly positioned to face the cohorts of Hell. He had said in Luke 10:18. "I saw Satan fall like a flash of lightning..."  better still "I was there when Satan fell."

He who enters the battle of the ages must do so fully rested in Christ. He who has come into Christ has meddled with the battle of the ages; that of Light and Darkness. He is a spiritual entity and attracts the accompanying attention. Whether or not he wants to wrestle, or whether or not he knows it, he is being wrestled with. He has something of value worthy of contention by the forces of Hell. He holds the title of Christ in trust and defence. He who does not have much is less contended with.

"Stand Therefore..." V. 14. "...Stand against..." V.11. We were to told to stand. Not to advance, Not to attack, but to STAND. To stand - to hold our ground. We are not trying to win the title. We are trying to defend what was won. Christ's warfare was offensive, ours is defensive. He took the battle to the gates of Hell  (Eph. 4:8-9), and He won Hell on home soil. None could be more offensive. He left no part of it for us to complete. Then He says through His Spirit to us - "You stand!" "Defend the title".

We need not be worked up. We are title defenders. We are not the ones who won it. We were given a title to defend. Our audacity can only be questionable if His victory was. We have no debate with the Kingdom of Hell. We were given a title to defend.

"Satan if you have any issues, go talk to the title-winner. As for me, I have a title to defend and I will entertain no frivolities"

If we get into the wrong engagement with Hell, we are positioning for defeat. If we try again to win what Jesus already won, we are violating our command - STAND. We are negotiating with Hell. All the Armoury of God are defensive, even the Sword of the Spirit. It is Satan that does the counter-attacking.

"....and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."

Like it has been said proverbially - We are not fighting for Victory, We are fighting from Victory.
