Identification is the key to growth .

It's found in the accurate knowledge of who we are and what belongs to us in christ .

Philemon 1:6 KJV
[6] That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

When the unbeliever hears of Christ, faith comes

Romans 10:17 KJV
[17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

However ,for the believer ,faith doesn't come ,he is in faith and faith in him .

It's knowledge that comes

And his faith becomes effective

The precise insight into the realities in Christ.

If he doesn't get this ,he Denies the word its rightful place .

Men had encountered identity problems in historical bible times

For a man not born of the spirit this was the means to communicate the word to him .

He stopped bearing a different I.D from the Word .Same with Sarah .

Within a year of this Isaac was born

Much happens when we properly see ourselves and actively recognize this in Christ

Faith becomes effective .

Gideon was like this too

[11] And there came an angel of the Lord , and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

He lived in the dread of the enemy ,yet this was so because he had no precise knowledge of himself

[12] And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

He was a mighty man who was afraid because he didn't know who he was or what he had

Judges 6:13 KJV
[13] And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

He was allowing his experiences overshadow the word

[15] And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.

This wasn't his identity in the word.

We must keep looking at the Word for active recognition .

James 1:25 KJV
[25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein , he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Originally called " law of Perfect Liberty " it frees us from sin and its doldrums .

It's the law of faith

[27] Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

It justifies us apart from works

It's the law of the Spirit of life in christ Jesus

[2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Takes us away and off the viscious cycle of sin and death ..

We must keep feeding on these realities .

Jesus always spoke His identification .

Jesus knew who he was via the scriptures .

As his custom was ,a habit .We had seen this when he was 12 .

He didn't pick up his I.D from Sesame Street or Star Wars or Hollywood .

He found where the scriptures pointed to him .

Not Moses or Elisha or David but Him..

Many search and identify with characters with whom they shouldn't .

Jesus always found himself .

[27] And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Concerning Himself .

Same with the believer today .

Look into christ not Moses or David or Solomon .

It's a place of perfect things ,

Made complete by and in christ .

Jesus had earlier let us into the rudiments of these realities .

11] Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

He is in union with the Father.

They have co current dwelling .

The Father's home is the Son and the Son dwells in the Father.

None prays for the presence of the other .

Imagine Jesus singing " something that makes me come into your presence ,my helper"

Maybe when he went o Hades for us .

But not today and ever .
Same with the believer

We are sons .

His father is ours .

As he is so are we.

At redemption ,we live in Him.

He lives in us

The Father dwells in us .

[9] For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

In Him,fullness .

[10] And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

We are in Him complete .

What completes us Is  the fullness of God .

We inhabit God.

He inhabits us .

Before now ,He inhabited praises .

[3] But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Now He inhabits us

Ephesians 2:22 KJV
[22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

We do NOTHING to get His attention .

We always have it .

Its a forever sorted issue,The believer is deitys' eternal home .

We are of God.

We are His presence on earth .

We must actively recognize this and not delude ourselves by being forgetful hearers

We keep beholding ourselves in Christ,till all our actions and experiences add up with these realities

We are Sons in the stead of our prototype .
